I am honoured to have been chosen to contest this seat.
I grew up in Hammersmith and Fulham, and have lived across the Kensington, Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham area for most of my life.
Recent Conservative governments have completely let down our local community. So many people I meet whilst campaigning tell me they feel ignored, and that they have no trust in politics at all anymore.
I want to send a message to this Conservative government that they have lost the trust of millions of people across the country in recent years with their out-of-touch incompetence.
This is personal for me. I lost my father to Covid, who I was living with, in the week that Johnson partied. The lack of contrition from this Conservative Party is sickening. I represent the mood of thousands of families across this area who feel equally let down by this Conservative Party.
They have left us with no police stations in the area, have delayed the much needed repairs Charing Cross Hospital needs until the 2030s, and have failed to reopen Hammersmith Bridge after four years.
It is clear, now more than ever, that our current MP is not the strong voice we need in Parliament. He has spent the last few years around the same Cabinet table as every recent Prime Minister, including the dangerous Boris Johnson and disastrous Liz Truss. I plan on being the hardworking MP Chelsea and Fulham deserves, to restore trust.
I will work tirelessly to fix the local problems this Conservative government have caused for us. I will stand up for our local NHS, get the police back on our streets, and push to reopen Hammersmith Bridge as soon as possible. I will listen to your concerns all year round and act on them. I want you to feel proud of our area again.
I will stand up for local businesses, and unlike the Labour Party, I will be tireless in my campaign to improve trading relations with Europe. I worked in the European Parliament before Brexit and saw first hand the benefits of Britain's membership of the Single Market. I will make no apology for championing the Lib Dem plan to get Britain back into the Single Market.
The Liberal Democrats only need a 12% swing to win Chelsea and Fulham at the next election, a figure that is much smaller than that achieved in their recent by-election victories. But I need your help. Please join my campaign by signing up below.
