The Liberal Democrats are calling on the board of Thames Water to resign and for the implementation of a new plan for the company.

Our plan would see the company, which has dumped billions of litres of sewage into the Thames whilst hiking bills by 40% and paying out huge bonuses, totally restructured.

“Enough is enough. The board must go.” said Roy Pounsford, local Liberal Democrat campaigner in Fulham Town.

“We must turn Thames Water into a Public Benefit Company. That way they would have to listen to local residents and environmental experts by appointing them to their board. It would also stop them paying huge bonuses out for as long their awful sewage dumping continues.”

Thames Water has ten storm overflow sites across the local stretch of the river - including four at Fulham Reach, two near Putney Bridge, three by Wandsworth Bridge and one at Chelsea Creek.
