It’s a travesty for children to go hungry

Last week, the Welsh Education Minister, Lib Dem Kirsty Williams, guaranteed the provision of free school meals for Welsh children during school holidays until at least Easter 2021.

Children in England deserve the same support.

Every year many parents dread the holiday, because they need to find an extra £30-40 per week to buy meals. That's why Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Daisy Cooper, called on the government to make tackling child hunger a priority, and to extend free school meals in the upcoming Spending Review.
