Nearly 60% of people with mental health problems wait over a year to tell the people closest to them about it. This is a very painful statistic to read and we have no reason to believe that Hammersmith differs from the national statistic. Coming forward is a hard thing to do. Asking for help is even harder.
Research shows that one in four people will suffer from mental health problems at some point in their lives, however there is still stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health.
